Biography

Yulia KOriginally from Tashkent, Uzbekistan Yulia has pursued her artistic and creative passions for as long as she can remember. From the age of three she enjoyed singing and performing in front of her friends and family. Even in preschool Yulia stood out as a performer. She participated in every school activity she could. As a child she would dress up and wear make-up and make believe she was performing for large audiences. Later on her classmates voted her “Miss Charming” and “Miss Artistic”. Yulia began studying English at age 11. At first, her mom made her do it but she later realized the importance of learning the language in pursuit of her dream of one day going to America and making the big time as an entertainer. Yulia also excelled at acting and modeling. At 15, she appeared in major hair and fashion shows. Her modeling photos began appearing in a number of magazines, local newspapers and advertisements.

Yulia’s dream was always to become a professional actress and singer- to record songs she wrote and let people hear her lyrics. However, it became more and more difficult to pursue her dream because her parents stressed the importance of going to college and getting an education. Yulia’s parents wanted a different future for their daughter, and at first they took Yulia’s desire to be an entertainer as a “not serious” occupation. Yulia decided to show her parents that she could get good grades and pursue her singing and acting career without her parents knowing in her spare time. While in high school she co-wrote and recorded a song with her friend Ravil. The song titled “Take Me with U” in Russian- turned out to be the first song on her path to success. They gave copies to local DJs, and the song gained attention and received positive feedback. Eventually, Tarona Records, a major Uzbek record label, heard Yulia’s song, liked it and scheduled an interview.

At Tarona Yulia recorded several songs that received radio plays. She was interviewed on several radio stations, appeared in live shows and performed with celebrities from her country. She was introduced as a “new artist” during the “Tarona Concert” and won recognition for the most requested song during the “lunch break” radio show by a major Uzbek radio station. Eventually, Yulia shot a video for her song “Znayu” that she co-wrote again with her friend Ravil. Meanwhile, in school, Yulia won first prize in an English contest and was awarded a one month trip to the United States to visit Florida. When she returned home, she was determined to go to college in the US. Yulia’s parents were shocked by the decision of their daughter—to go alone abroad. Her Father always wanted only what’s best for her, he realized it was a great chance to get a good education but didn’t want his daughter to be away.He wanted her near her family and to attend University in her home country majoring in international relations. She later performed at the school a few times, once in front of a British ambassador. After a year of college she finally convinced her parents to let her continue studying in Florida. She continued her education in the US going for an MBA. While going to school in the US she auditioned every opportunity she could. Soon, Yulia’s image was on billboards and in commercials all over Central Florida. She modeled for magazines and had opportunities for promotional work for several major companies. While it was difficult to balance both school and her entertainment career she was determined to work hard for her dreams! While visiting NY Yulia attended a Roberta Flack concert and had an opportunity to meet Ms. Flack and express how glad she was to meet such a superstar. Ms. Flack told Yulia, “You’ve got something in you, something special I believe you’ll make it big someday…” Hearing these words increased Yulia’s desire to make it in the industry. Yulia managed to record in Orlando,Miami,LA. She worked with well known music producers such as Dexter Redding, Derrick Perkins, and many more. Later, Yulia was introduced to producer Greg Lawson famous for his hits with artists such as J Lo, Anastasia and Jamie Foxx, just to name a few. Yulia and Greg recorded songs at Stonehouse Music in LA, along with the assistance of John Philips of the studio. Yulia is working hard to achieve her acting goals. She was lucky to have natural acting skills, but being natural is not everything. She knew she would have to learn the techniques of the art. She took intensive acting classes with Chambers Stevens (LA), John Didonna (Orlando), and ongoing classes with Rus Blackwell-a successful actor and coach whom Yulia adores the most.

Yulia has starred in commercials, short films and music videos. She appeared in the feature films and television, such as “Old Dogs” with John Trovolta and Robin Williams, ”Never back down”,”Entourage” and many more.
